The Tucson trip is over, sad, but I/we had a great time! My drive there and back was smooth - no winter storms and just a bit of rain on the way home.
My son and his fiancée came down and did some some camping in Tucson while I was there - they got to experience their first Tucson show! They found out it can get quite cold in the Arizona desert in February!
Lyn flew down and joined me for the last few days of the show and then drove home with me (thank you) .
My truck was way overloaded on the way home but it made it easier to get in and out since it was so low to the ground! I also shipped a pallet of rocks home so I’ve got a lot of new inventory!
We stopped at the Meteor Crater National Landmark in northern AZ (very interesting). We also stopped at Rhonda Dobell’s Petrified Wood ranch in NE AZ and picked up some nice specimens! We got a couple of big pieces for ourselves and my future Daughter-in-Law, Alyssa. We also brought home 4-5 gallon buckets of wood to tumble, cut/polish, and to sell.
Rhonda’s ranch is just outside Holbrook, AZ where Lyn convinced me, thankfully, to stay the night in a wigwam - very fun!
We stopped at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX - very cool! If you’re not familiar with it, Google it, well worth the read, and the stop!
We also made a stop at the Uranus Fudge Factory in MO. Very fun if you can put up with all the puns! The fudge is very good and it made for a good diversion on the drive home.
I knew that I would not be able to put all of my new inventory in my house so upon arrival I proceeded to rent a storage locker. This will help consolidate my material and give me a better place to work out of. All the new material is now there as well as much of the older stuff.
I’m going to start doing some live feeds from there. I’ve purchase a battery power station to run some lights and charge my phone so as soon as it comes in I’ll be ready to go.
I did a few Live Feeds on Facebook while I was in Tucson and I think I'll keep them going now that I'm home. If you don't already, follow Motown Rocks on Facebook so you can get notifications of when I plan on going live.
